Are You Ready to Give Yourself Permission? (Snatch Sexy Challenge Series)

Hey girl!

Serious question: how are you? Like, really? How's your soul? How have your dreams been? How is your mood, your energy? Take a moment and check in with yourself.

I've been well. Every day I'm counting my blessings. I'm tuning out every voice telling me to be pessimistic. I'm staying focused.

Is it easy? No. Every day, we're presented with dings, bells, notifications and thoughts that are just plain intrusive. The ability to concentrate and not become easily distracted seems to be the new form of wealth. (To me, anyways.)

Anyhoo. I digress.

My actual intent upon coming on here is to share a new journey (or perhaps I should say an updated one). I'm embarking on a new challenge, my new Snatch Sexy Challenge--which is about so much more than the title implies.

This challenge is about a woman, a mother, you, me owning our power.

This challenge is about owning your authenticity.

This challenge is about getting clear on who you are meant to be, and your unique gifts you're meant to contribute to society.

This challenge is about getting your healthiest, happiest, and most fit.

...All while being the best mom you can be.

No easy job, I know.

And you know what else? Others who are not yet ready to rise may not only consciously choose not to support you, but may also resent you for leveling up. Who do you think you are? They may say.

Resist the urge to explain your standards. Keep rising.

Ask yourself, what's the alternative here? Choose mediocrity?

I don't know about you, but I'm not succumbing to that notion.

It's 2021. God placed you here, trusted you with a community (children, partner, friends, circle of influence, co-workers, etc.), trusted you with talents...for what? So you can develop them, reach your divine potential...all for the ultimate purpose of uplifting humanity. We need your gifts, girl!

We are all responsible for our corner of the Universe--to water it, bring light, to make leave it more beautiful than before.

...I would be remiss also if I didn't warn you that some may call you selfish for pursuing greatness and making time for purpose.

I believe being "selfish" and using your energy to heal, grow, reach your potential, is actually the most un-selfish thing you can do. ...Because when your cup is full--it spilleth over. And when your cup is dry? Well, you bring a dark cloud in each room you inhabit.

And I know that's not you. Or you wouldn't be reading this.

You are a woman dedicated to living a life of excellence, joy, peace. (Notice I didn't say perfection). Will we stumble? Fail? Fall on our face? At times, yes. But everyone will. This is a part of life. This is why resilience is a thing.

But.

We can either fall and keep rising afterward. Or stay on the same level after challenges.

We get to choose. It's my prayer we both choose wisely.

So!

Here's my first MWH homework assignment for you, which comes straight from the Snatch Sexy Challenge itself. Please write the answer in your journal.

1. Are you ready to give yourself permission to live your most authentic, healthy, happy life as a mother even if it costs you your comfort and some relationships? Why or why not?

And I'll leave you with this.

Fast forward your life to when you're 90 years old (y'all know I love this visualization).

Ask HER WHY you need to give yourself permission to live your best life.

She holds all the wisdom you'll need in a lifetime.

Sending you nothing but love.

Monica
