Stocking Our Kitchen: A Wellness Grocery Haul for a Family of 6

I love stocking our fridge and pantry for the week(s) ahead in a way that supports our family's busy lifestyle. From soccer practices, homeschooling, to meal prepping--our days are full--so my goal in my food hauls is to ensure we have quality ingredients to support our active lifestyle.

I keep the majority of our food in heavy rotation because it reduces decision fatigue. I simply swap out recipes using the same ingredients. Check out a breakdown of what I shop for consistently for my family of six:

Proteins

A must for building muscle and having a stable mood. We love getting grass fed ground beef, steak (for tacos!), eggs, milk, bone broth (collagen=natural botox), protein powder, chicken, Greek yogurt, black beans, shrimp, bacon, cheese, macaroni (my kid's favorite), dino nuggies (another kid's favorite), and beef sticks (great high protein snack for family hikes).

Carbs

A must for energy and mama's glute gains! We usually grab Ezekiel bread (MWH approved bread--my fave), whole wheat and white tortillas, potatoes, old fashioned oats, crackers, pancake mix.

Fats

A must for healthy, happy hormones and stable moods. Avocados (my FAVE fruit), olive oil, grass fed butter, almond & peanut butter.

Fruits & Veggies

We all know fruits and vegetables are amazing for us right? The antioxidants jammed packed in them supports long life, glass skin, energy for days, and digestion. We always grab organic frozen fruit for my smoothies, bananas, apples, kiwis, strawberry, spinach, kale, pre-made smoothies and green juices for busier days, onion, garlic, asparagus, broccoli, jalapenos, lemons, cucumbers, tomatoes, cilantro.

Beauty Drinks

Kombuchas, apple cider vinegar, coconut water, tumeric shots, green tea--oh my! I love these liquids for gut health and supporting our body's largest organ--our skin.

Eating is a huge part of our life--we do so at least 3-5 times a day--so I love researching the best foods to feed my family regularly.

Wellness doesn’t have to be complicated or perfect. It starts with what you stock your kitchen with — and choosing foods that support the life you want to live.

Did I miss a superfood or staple you'd recommend from your repertoire?
